Colorado Visitors

The Walker Family had a great 3-day weekend in San Diego with the Vlietstra Family. We were so happy to finally have a chance to meet Emma, Jacob's month older Prom date. Yes, Walker boy's start young! :)

It's amazing how much time it takes to get four adults and two babies ready and out the door in the morning! I think it took us over 2 hours to get everyone showered, dressed, and packed the first day. Both Sara and I kept wondering how parents of twins do it on their own. However, I have to give the babies credit for allowing us to enjoy ALL of our meals in peace! For most of our meals, both kids were asleep. Occasionally when one or both kids were awake, they were completely happy and allowed us to eat together at the table while they hung out on our laps or on their own. This never happens with one baby, much less two! Who knows what happened to both Emma and Jacob, but we appreciated the courtesy.

Saturday was a lazy, relaxing day. We didn't do much besides play with the babies at home and catch up. Sunday we had a very busy day visiting different beaches. We made it to La Jolla Cove, where this picture was taken. It was the first time Jacob saw the Pacific Ocean. We then headed down to Coronado for lunch, then to Seaport Village for dessert. By then, we were completely wiped from all the walking and getting everyone in and out of the car, carseats, front carriers, and strollers so often. That evening my parents treated us to a very delicious birria... yum!
We spent all of Monday at the Wild Animal Park. It was so nice to be there when the weather was warm, but not hot, and there were no crowds. The Vlietstras had never been and Ryan and I hadn't been to the Park in several years, so we all had a blast walking around and seeing all of the animals. You don't realize there were so many little hills at the Park, until you have to push a stroller up the hills! For their last evening in San Diego, we went to the Fish Market in Downtown for dinner. It was very good, and the view was awesome! We got a table right on a window, with a clear and perfect view of Coronado. We can't wait to see the Vlietstras again soon!!!
