Three Months
Dear Jacob,
I can't believe how quickly time has passed! You are three months old today and you are more fun than ever. You've begun to coo and gurgle, smile, and even laugh. Of course it is hard to get a picture of you smiling because as soon as the camera comes out, you get completely serious.

You had your first airplane ride this month - we went on a business trip with your papi to Tucson, Arizona. You were a great traveler! You slept on the plane and didn't make a peep. At the hotel, you won over the hearts of the staff. One waitress at the restaurant even offered to babysit. The trip was great because you and I spent lots of time together without me having to do stuff around the house or anything, all my time was devoted to you.

The most noteworthy change this past month has been your sight. You are able to see farther now and you love to look around at the world around you. Sometimes you are not at all interested in eating, even though you are hungry, because you will miss out on something. You have also started to recognize your papi and me. You are able to track us across the room as we move about. You also get a big smile when you see us walk into a room or even get close to you. I have to admit that it is so rewarding to see your face light up when you recognize me.
When your papi gets home you and him like to hang out either on the couch or you join him in the garage. I guess he's getting you used to the garage activities for when you get older. He is also trying to prepare you for all the skiing, running, biking, and volleyball you are going to be doing with him by exercising your arms and legs. He pretends that you are on skis and moves your legs up and down, side to side, even simulating going through moguls. You think it is the best thing in the world when he does that - you smile and laugh with him.
You love playtime with all of your toys that rattle and squeak. You not only smile and laugh with them, but you pump your arms in the air and kick your legs with happiness. It is so much fun to watch you. I keep thinking that being your mami couldn't get any more rewarding, and yet it does. Its amazing how much you are loved by your papi and me!
Keep smiling, Jacob!
Love,
Mami
