Weaning has begun

Today Jacob and I started the weaning process.

I know it doesn't sound like that big of a deal, but I am actually having a really hard time with it. And to make it that much harder on me, Jacob gulped down his bottle of cow's milk as if it was nothing out of the ordinary. I mean, couldn't he have just put up a little fight - something to make me feel as if all those nursing sessions actually meant something to him?! Geez!

Actually, I'm relieved that he didn't put up a fight, but I did have feeling of loss. I'm just glad that I was able to breastfeed for one whole year and give our son the best start in life.
