15.5 months

Dear Jacob,

I'm so sorry the last few letters have been a little late. The past month has been absolutely crazy with me being at work, the recent San Diego Firestorm, and the overall craziness of life. However, we have been having so much fun with you lately.

First off, you have started to really communicate with us. You finally said your first words, "Da-dEE" and "uh-auuuh". You go around the house calling for Daddy and are so happy to finally see him. When you are playing and you drop something, you call out uh-oh. Actually, you day uh-oh for lots of things. You do understand lots of things too. If I ask you for your ball, you will go around the house and look for it. You crouch down to survey the room from the floor level - just like Mommy and Daddy do - then, you will lay down and look under the couch, bed, or ottoman to look for it. When you finally find it, you grab it and run to bring it to us. You can also look for your shoes, bring them to us, then sit down so we can put them on you. When you are hungry, you pull on our hand and lead us to the kitchen, and point to exactly what it is you want - the refrigerator, the drawer with all the snacks, or something to drink.

You have been such a help around the house too! You love to help me put clothes into the washing machine, then transfer them to to dryer. It is so much fun for you! Also, when I am sweeping the floor, you like to hold onto the broom and help me. If I happen to set it down for a sec, you will grab it and start "sweeping" on your own. It is too cute!

You have been teething the last wee or so. You don't look quite so much like a little beaver now that you have one other tooth on the top left and another tooth coming in the back left - I think it might be a molar. Both your Da-Dee and I wish we could take away your pain, it much hurt so much to get a new tooth.

Your new hobby during playtime is to build Lego towers. You love to put them together - you'll spend a good 30 minutes just building a tower, taking it apart, then building it up again. If we build a big tower for you, you LOVE to run into it and knock it down! You are such a little boy with the love for destruction. We have fun building towers with blocks and even cardboard boxes, which you will get a running start to ram into to knock down. It is so much fun to watch you laugh as the towers come crumbling down and then see you rebuild them again.

Love you Jacob,
Mami
