MICKEY!!!!
We are so excited! We got a chance to meet Mickey Mouse and his friends at Disney World in Orlando. Ryan had Rain Bird business in Florida, so we decided to fly the whole family out for a nice, long weekend at the Disney Parks. We had so much fun! It was very tiring, but so worth it.
The boys and I flew out on the red eye on Wednesday night. I have to say, I was super impressed with the way the boys handled themselves. Plus, it helped that the guy sitting next to us on the plane was an angel. We finally made it to the hotel around 6:30am on Thursday morning. Thankfully, the boys and I all slept for a few hours. Then, we were up and ready to explore Magic Kingdom before our date with Mikey.
We spent a day and a half at Magic Kingdom, a few hours at Animal Kingdom, and a full day at Epcot. They were full days, but the boys were able to keep going until 11 pm! They would then, of course, sleep in until 10 am the next morning. The parks sure do have a way of wearing you out.
The first night, we attended at Rain Bird dinner where the guest of honor was Mickey. All the kids were super excited, including ours. Jacob was jumping up and down when he saw Mickey come into the room. Ethan kept pointing and saying "Mickey!" After we got a picture with Mickey, Ethan was so excited he kept going over to the stuffed Mickey doll on a table, pointing and saying "Mickey." Then, he would run over to the read Mickey and point and say "Mickey!" He repeated this for at least 15 minutes! It was so cute to see the boys that excited.
Our first day at Magic Kingdom was a lot of fun. We went on the People Mover (now called the Transit Authority, but we don't like the name). Then, we got on Buzz Lightyear, Ryan and Jacob drove the cars in the Speedway, we saw the Monsters Inc. Comedy show, and just had a grand old time.
Buzz Lightyear and Mickey Mouse were the two things Jacob wanted at "Mickey's house." While we didn't get a chance to see the real Buzz, we sure did enjoy the ride!
The smoked turkey legs were so yummy! However, we discovered that one was good enough; two are just too salty!
Helping Buzz defend the universe! Of course, it was Ryan who wanted to get in his own car so that he could have his own gun and beat his previous score.
The reason for our trip - the Epcot Flower and Garden Show. The topiarys were spectacular. This one was at the entrance. Wow!
Our last night. Both boys fell asleep in the stroller and missed the closing night dessert party and Illuminations show. They needed their rest though, we didn't get to bed until after midnight and our bus was taking us to the airport at 3:45 am! Needless to say, it was a looong flight home. Once we finally made it back to San Diego, we all took 4 plus hour naps! But, it was all worth it for such an awesome trip.
